HOW TO GET BORN AGAIN
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
5 things to note from this verse:
- God the father, the creator of heaven and earth, our creator loves us his creation, the world. God is a good and holy father. There is no sin in him. Sin is anything we think, say or do that does not please God. The bible says that we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God and the payment of sin is death ( separation from God). When man is separated from God he does not live by Gods word he does what he wants and feels like doing. Our enemy the devil takes this opportunity for rebellion and adds his evil in our lives. Watch the daily news and you will see what a rebellious heart empowered by the devil can do. But thanks be to God that he loved us so much and did not want to leave us in this situation, so God sent his only son to come and die for our sins in our place. Now that is love!
- God gave his only son Jesus. God exists in 3 persons, God the father, God the son and God the Holy Spirit. God the son- Jesus is the one who came to earth fully God in the spirit but fully man in the body and showed us how God is like, he taught us the word of God and then gave up his sinless life for us.
- Whoever admits that they have sinned by choosing to go against the will of God by thinking, saying and doing things that are contrary to His will. if you admit that you have sinned then you realize that you ought to die for your sin. But thanks be to Jesus he came on earth and took our place in death and paid for our sin! Do you believe this?
- Sin had separated us from God making us spiritually dead. Then Jesus forgave our sins by shedding his blood on the cross. We were separated from God but now that our sins are forgiven we are reconciled back to God giving us eternal life. Eternal life is knowing who God is and Jesus Christ whom he sent to give us salvation from death to life.
- Do you believe this? If you do say this prayer: God thank you for sending Jesus Christ on earth to die for my sin. I believe I am forgiven. I no longer live a life separated from you and thus bringing death in my life I now have eternal life. Father help me to know you and Jesus more and more every day. I confess with my mouth and believe in my heart that God sent his son on earth to die for my sin. I believe my sins are forgiven. From now on am born again. Thank you father for all you have done for me In Jesus name Amen.
