“I Am” Statements of Jesus:

Welcome to our blog series on the “I Am” statements of Jesus, a journey through some of the most profound declarations found in the Gospel of John. These statements, each beginning with “I am,” are more than mere words; they are revelations of Jesus’ divine identity and His mission to humanity. My prayer is that you have experienced Jesus in some or all of these identities.

The “I Am” statements of Jesus provide us with deep insights into who He is and what He offers to those who believe in Him. They invite us to explore the nature of Jesus as the Son of God and to understand how His presence can transform our lives.

The “I Am” Statements are:

1. I am the Bread of Life (John 6:35): Jesus as the sustenance of our spiritual lives.

2. I am the Light of the World (John 8:12): Jesus as the source of spiritual illumination and guidance.

3. I am the Door of the Sheep(John 10:7): Jesus as the entry point to salvation and safety.

4. I am the Good Shepherd(John 10:11): Jesus as the one who cares for and protects His followers.

5. I am the Resurrection and the Life(John 11:25): Jesus as the power over life and death, offering eternal life.

6. I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6): Jesus as the only path to God, embodying truth and life.

7. I am the True Vine (John 15:1): Jesus as the vital connection for spiritual fruitfulness.

Each statement not only reveals a different aspect of Jesus’ character. By understanding these statements, we can gain a clearer picture of who Jesus is and what He desires for our lives.

Our hope is that as we explore these “I Am” statements together, you will be encouraged, challenged, and inspired in your spiritual journey.

Sheep of His Pasture

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Great light has come

The people who walked in darkness
have seen a great light.
They lived in a land of shadows,
but now light is shining on them.

Know the will of God

This is why it is said: “Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.” Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. Ephesians 5:14-17

Gaze at the beauty of the Lord. He is purer than Sunshine. We are all made in the image of God. We depict the character, glory and an aspect of God in our daily lives. Can you see God is in this picture? I would love to hear from you. Send me your views, comments, questions and prayer requests.
